Studying a non-hormonal option for feminine dryness.
See if the WAVES Study is right for you.
What is the WAVES Study?
Vaginal dryness can affect any woman, however after menopause it is quite common, affecting over half of post-menopausal women. In addition, vaginal dryness is often experienced by cancer survivors, due to treatments that cause estrogen levels to drop. Women with vaginal dryness experience everyday discomfort, increased rates of urinary tract and yeast infections, and pain with sexual intercourse.
Right now, doctors at select US centers are conducting the WAVES Study – a confidential clinical research study for women who struggle with vaginal dryness. The study is for an investigational, non-hormonal medical device designed to treat vaginal dryness. It is used discreetly in the privacy of your home and does not involve any hormones or medications.
If you qualify and choose to join the WAVES Study, you will be seen by a local women’s health specialist and will receive all study-related care at no cost. The study lasts about 12 weeks. During this time, you will visit your local study center 3 times to discuss your experiences and evaluate your symptoms. You will also be reimbursed for your travel costs to attend these visits.
